MEET: MARCUS BANKS
Marcus Banks (born August 1993) who is known by his artist name Marcus Banks is from Gulfport, MS. Marcus had a rough childhood growing up he didn't really know his father because his father was serving 8 years in jail for intent to sell drugs. His father got out when Marcus was 10 years old, Until that time Marcus was staying with his mother he later moved in with his father when he was 11 years old.
Marcus's father was heavy in the drug game and spoiled his son with everything he wanted. Marcus stayed with his father even though he was staying with his father his father would rarely spend time with him. In 2006 his father got sent back to jail to serve 2 years for violating his probation. Marcus moved back in with his mother an continued going to school at school he was labeled a troublemaker because he would misbehave, skip school, and started getting suspended frequently.
He moved back in with his father at 16 years old and then the next following year his father was killed during a drug deal gone wrong. Marcus started following his fathers footsteps by selling drugs himself because he felt lost, Marcus eventually got arrested and was on probation for 2 years. He went back to school and got a (LCN) licensed nurse practioner degree stopped doing music for 2 years then he went back to doing music again. Marcus's favorite artists to listen to while he was growing up was Lil'Wayne, T.I, and Nas. Drake and Kendrick Lamar are artists that inspire his creativity when it comes down to making music.
Marcus started rapping at 13 years old but never considered himself a artist till the age of 16 years of age. Marcus has performed at several different clubs and events not limited to Keesler Air Force base, Club level, and VFW just to name a few. He has also opened up for some major and independent artists like Young Dolph, Lil' Chuckee, and many others.
