Gene (Dirty Souf Records) was born on April 13, 1982. He was raised in a two parent household on the West Side of Nashville, TN in the Preston Taylor Housing Projects. Growing up in the inner city Gene had to fend for himself while also resisting the negative influences commonly found on the streets. And even though he made a few mistakes in his Life he always believed that he could change his situation through faith and hard work.
In 2010 he began promoting rap artist in and around the city of Nashville for a local record label called Killa Muzic Entertainment. After a couple of years of working for KME Gene decided to start his own record label, Dirty Souf Records, in 2012.
In 2013 Gene connected with Demitrius Designs, a local apparel company, and released his own t-shirt line called, “Bosses Don’t Follow We Lead”. The motivation behind his t-shirt line was aimed at bringing a positive state of mind to a city filled with plenty of death and despair. His goal with Bosses Don’t Follow We Lead is to inspire others to reach for their dreams regardless of their current situation or background.
With an extreme emphasis on education, Gene feels that with the proper guidance and discipline anyone can become their own “Boss” and continuously make Boss moves. Bosses Don’t We Lead… the Life of a Boss!!!
