"As a Music Producer, have you been trying to figure out how to grow your Instagram page?"
By this time most creative’s understand the extreme amount of competition within their respective industries and how difficult it can be cutting through the noise to reach the right target audience.
For music producers this goal can be ten times as difficult for many reasons including lack of fan engagement, lack of growth information available online and of course a large amount of competition, just to name a few. Therefore I have put together a simple posting program to help you as a music producer maximize your growth potential via Instagram.
Post your workflow in progress
If there's only one thing all creative’s have in common; I would personally have to say it’s the love for the process of creating new art. I can also assure you that there's a market for watching artist in progress of creating new work.
This market is filled with people that want to learn for whatever reason, some of them may be aspiring music producers themselves and other just may want to see how the art is actually made. Either way you’re teaching people about what you do and those that are interested will highly appreciate you for it.
Post songs of artist using your production
Here's where many music producers get it wrong and miss out on huge brand awareness opportunities. When a talented rapper drops dope lines over one of your production pieces it's the best opportunity to gain exposure for your work, promote the artist, and provide potential for new clients for your brand of production.
Be proud of your work and be one of the biggest supports of the artist rapping over your production it’s only a positive for you both.
Post about classic songs and its production
This is important because music fans love to hear the opinions that music producers have about other music producer’s work. It provides insight into the music production world on a personal level while giving your fans a look into your personal taste as a fan and music producer.
Post equipment, software you use and/or are looking to use
Here's your opportunity to reach and teach an audience of younger and/or aspiring producers. You see creative’s are always seeking knowledge to enhance their skill sets while learning new techniques.
By bring your supporters into your world of equipment and software your providing inspiration for a group with direct interest in your field. At the end of the day inspiring the mind is kind of what art is all about.
Post tips for production via video
Being viewed as an expert in your creative space is a big deal when you’re looking to increase your value. Luckily in every industry there's a substantial amount of people looking for answers to questions and as a music producer I'm sure you want those coming after you to learn and represent the craft of music production at high levels.
Post “New Productions” with descriptive captions about the beats
Understand that people love to learn new things especially when it’s of personal interest to them. Furthermore when you provide simplistic descriptions for creations such as beat productions it gives the listener and/or potential client an understanding that your strongly into your craft and that your creating with purpose.
Post Images with artist you've worked with and those you have meet on your journey This shows a number of things to your followers and potential followers. For one they’ll see that you’re approachable and when it comes to doing business with new clients this will be of major importance to your success.
Second those images will serve as visual testimonials. It’s like saying “hey look, this artist has worked with me; now check out our work together” or “this could be us next, hit me up”. And third but not least provides a sense of integrity and a level of seriousness you have for your craft.
As a music producer if you use Instagram with a simple and consistent routine you make a huge difference in your overall notoriety over time.
